Samuel H. Lindley, age 85, died at his home in Kingman, Thursday Sept 11 after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Lindley was a retired farmer and had lived most of his life in the Kingman community. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Rush Creek church in Liberty Twp and burial was in Rush Creek Cemetery. Mr. Lindley was born in Parke County July 7 1867 the son of George and Sarah Woody Lindley. In 1892 he was married to Ella M. Swaim who died in 1934. A son, Kenneth and daughter Constance also preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters, Juanita at home; Mrs. Glee Garrard of near Montezuma and Mrs. Ruth Pickard of Bloomingdale; three sons, Flaud and Hiram of near Kingman and George of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Moffet and Mrs. Mary Glasscock, both of Covington; a brother, Rev. Paul B. Lindley of Milan O; 10 grandchildren and 5 greats. (Thanks to Randy Wright's great Parke County Times 1-28-2009)
